EE796 Engineering Professional Principles
Course Description: Provides background for the capstone design
experience (ECE791/792). Topics include creativity, design methodology,
specification development, project management, and preparation for oral and
written reports. Includes initial capstone project selection. Prerequisites: ECE
junior standing, Cr./F., 1 Credit.

Summer Engineering Positions Available at UNH
The UNH Project54 research group
has job openings for ECE students for full-time employment during the summer
2009 and part-time employment during the following academic year. These
positions involve various software and hardware aspects of supporting the
Project54 mobile computing system in police cruisers. Interested ECE students
should contact Dr. Andrew Kun @ andrew.kun@unh.edu.

- Thursday, April 2, Kingsbury N101, 1:00PM-2:00PM -
Dr. Paul Green,
Senior Research Scientist in the Human Factors Division at the University of
Michigan Transportation Research Institute, will speak on
Human Factors Engineering - Why It Matters and Some Recent Research on Driver
Distraction. Attendance at this presentation is not required for
ECE796, but is very highly recommended. The normal class the previous Monday
(March 30) will be canceled.
- Monday, April 13, Kingsbury N111, 4:10PM-5:00PM - Contrary to the
earlier posting, the class will meet this day in the normal classroom.
- Monday, April 20, 4:10PM-5:00PM, Spaulding Room G26 -
Dr. Brad Gillespie, industry consultant and UNH ECE Department alum, will
speak on entrepreneurship and the intersection of business and technology.
Attendance at this presentation is required for ECE796 since it is during the
normal class time period.

- Wednesday, April 22, Kingsbury Hall hallways, 1:00PM-4:00PM - Current
ECE seniors (along with many other UNH seniors) will present the results of
their projects as part of the 2009 UNH Undergraduate
Research Conference poster sessions. Attendance at this event is not
required for ECE796, but is very highly recommended since you will be required
to participate in 2010. You can visit the research posters and talk to the
students any time between 1:00PM and 4:00PM.
