2008 WCRC Bus To
Boston

The Winner's Circle Running Club is once again organizing a bus for runners of the Boston Marathon.
You missed the bus!!! All seats are full. Contact Vicki Miller if you would like to be put on the waiting list. Click here for a list of people who have confirmed seats in the WCRC Bus to Boston.
The 2008 Bus Race Day Instructions are now on line (if you have a seat!!!).
The bus will pick up runners at the Winner's Circle Sports Bar in Salisbury, MA at 6:15 AM on the morning of Monday, April 21 (the marathon starts 2 hours earlier again this year!). The bus will then proceed to Hopkinton where it will park until after the start, providing a pre-race base of operations for WCRC runners. As they finish, runners will converge on the room reserved by WCRC at the Lenox Hotel (right at the finish line), for showers, refreshments, and the telling of tales. Spectators can watch the start and then return to the bus for a ride to the Lenox (or as near to it as possible, given the traffic restrictions that day), in time to see the finish. The bus will leave from near the Lenox at 4:30 PM and proceed back to the Circle in Salisbury, where runners will shuffle home as best as they can.
The cost for the trip is $65 for WCRC members and $80 for nonmembers (this is a break even event for the club). First priority for reservations will go to WCRC members who intend to run the marathon (current members or new members, so join now if you haven't already) until March 20. After March 20, reservations for any remaining seats will be accepted from non-members as well as members, and from spectators as well as marathon runners, on a first-come, first-served basis. Runners and spectators must be 18 years or older in order to ride the bus.
The terms of the bus charter require that we leave the Lenox at 4:30 PM, whether or not all runners have finished, to meet the bus which will be waiting nearby. If you can not finish the marathon by 4:00 PM (the second wave of the marathon starts at 10:30 AM this year), you will probably miss the bus and should consider other transportation options. If you can not finish the marathon by 3:30 PM, you will probably miss out on the shower at the Lenox.
Your marathon bus application with payment in full must be received by WCRC before a seat will be reserved. The fact that you are a nice person and took the bus last year does not mean that we will save you a seat this year. The bus was totally full of nice people last year (see photo above) ... we can't save seats for everyone! All refund requests received by WCRC on or before April 1 will be honored. After April 1, refunds (partial or full) will depend on the club's ability to fill the remaining seats.
