The Bruce Ellis Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Bruce Ellis Road Race was created to raise funds for the Bruce Ellis Memorial Scholarship Fund, a self-sustaining fund. Every year a scholarship is awarded to a deserving Exeter Area High School scholar-athlete who has been a member of the track or cross-country team. Bruce Ellis was an elite local marathon runner who made significant contributions to the sport of running and was a familiar face at local road races. His untimely death in 1989 left a void in the running community.
The Course
The race is held on a gently rolling course in Exeter, N.H. The middle portion of the course follows a scenic gravel trail through the woods, free from traffic. The race starts and finishes at Exeter Healthcare on the campus of Exeter Hospital. Registration and post race activities take place at Synergy Health and Fitness, which is also on the campus of Exeter Hospital.

The first 175 registrants will receive a Runners Gear Sac.
Post Race
The post race festivities will take place at Synergy Health and Fitness. Plenty of refreshments and raffle prizes.
Awards
Awards will be presented in the lobby of Synergy Health and Fitness immediately following the race. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in all race categories (no double awards). Award categories include: Open, 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
Timing
Timing will be provided by the Winner's Circle Running Club.

Send application form and entry fee payable to "Bruce Ellis Road Race" c/o George and Phillips, 173 Water Street, Exeter, NH 03833. The race fee is $14 for all applications received by 10/25, $17 after 10/25. Race day registration (also $17) from 8:00 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. in the lobby of Synergy Health and Fitness.
Directions
From Route 95 north or south: Take the Exeter/Hampton exit of Route 95 and proceed west on Route 51. Exit Route 51 at Route 111, turning left towards Exeter. Follow Route 111 to Route 27, turning right (west) towards Exeter on Route 27. Route 27 becomes High Street in Exeter. Turn right onto Buzzell Avenue at the Exeter Hospital sign. Turn right onto Alumni Drive just before the hospital. Synergy Health and Fitness is on the left side of Alumni Drive, just past the hospital building. Race day parking is in the indoor parking garage (free parking).
From Route 101 from the west: Follow Route 101 to the Route 108 exit. Follow Route 108 (Portsmouth Avenue) south into Exeter. Turn left onto Alumni Drive at the lights just before Dunkin Donuts. Synergy Health and Fitness is on the right side of Alumni Drive, where the road curves to the right. Race day parking is in the indoor parking garage (free parking).
