Once again Dave Abusamra did an excellent job putting on the 14th Annual Yankee Runner Short Run on September 22, 1996. The weather was perfect, clear with temps in the low 70's; after a week of rain, making the course wet and slow. In the Junior's race (2.5k), Michael Grant won the boy's race in 9:50, and Molly Landreth set a age group (13-14) record of 9:53. Traci Webber ran 13:08 for the WCRC. Mick Grant brought 11 young runner's from the MVS down for the race. Three other 5K races were run in heats, Men 40 and up, Women, and Men's open.
